Dont mistake my silence for disinterest, my
openmindedness for ignorance.

Just because am
not talking doesnt mean i have nothing to say.

Dont mistake my tolerance for passivity,my idealism for naivety, my dreams for fantasies
and my honesty for trust.

Just because i tell the
truth daent mean i thnk u do the same, just because i have my doubts daent mean i have no
hope and just because i care what other pple thnk daent mean i conform.

Dont mistake our friendship for dependency coz that doesnt mean i cant handle being alone.

Am Only Human

I am sitting on the stairway with tears in my eyes, an owl in the backyard cant just stop being
the bad omen it is.

I am trying to understand
where i went wrong.

was my openeness too
much that you couldnt handle?

did i talk too much?

is this the price we all have to pay in the end?

being good is all i was to you, doing everything right just so that you would be okay
and now is this the price i have to pay?

dont i deserve even a thankyou?

As the moon is covered n uncovered by the passing clouds, i realise that i can be the moon, only that i have to stand and fight and refuse to be covered for so long.

its a cruel world, i now understand what she meant with those worlds.

i know i deserve much better, thats why i will rise, shake
the dust and soldier ahead. i just cant lose another time.

Anyway, why allow a person to treat me like i have no home? And why should i feel offended when you act like you are Gods gift to mankind, you have a choice, i have mine too well lets act on them!

But then, should we cross paths,
handle me with care because am human,i feel,i
hurt,i bleed….easily

There are people who can walk away from you.And hear me when I tell you this!
When peoplecan walk away from you: let them walk.

I don’t want you to try to talk another person into staying with you, loving you, calling you, Caring about you, coming to
see you, staying attached to you.

I mean hang up the phone.

When people can walk away from you let them walk. Your destiny is never tied to anybody that left.
The bible said that, they came out from us that it might be
made manifest that they were not for us. For had they been of us, no doubt they would have continued with us. they leave
you because they are not joined to you.
And if they are not joined to you, you can’t make them stay.

Let them go.

And it doesn’t mean that they are a bad person it just means that their part in the story is over And you’ve got to
know when people’s part in
your story is over so that you don’t keep trying to raise the’ve got to know when it’s dead.
You’ve got to know when it’s over.Let me tell you something. I’ve got the gift of good-bye.
It’s the tenth spiritual
gift, I believe in good-bye. It’s not that I’m hateful, it’s that I’m faithful, and I know whatever God means for me to have He’ll give it to me.

And if it takes too much sweat I don’t need it. Stop begging
people to stay. Let them go!!
If you are holding on to something that doesn’t
belong to you and was
never intended for your life, then you need

If you are holding on to past hurts and pains…

If someone can’t treat you right and see your worth…..

If someone has angered you …….

If you are holding on to some thoughts of evil and revenge……

If you are holding on to a job that no longer meets your needs or talent

If you have a bad attitude…….

If you keep judging others to make yourself feel better……

If you’re stuck in the past and God is trying to
take you to a new level in Him……

If you are struggling with the healing of a broken

If you keep trying to help someone who won’t even try to help themselves…..

If you’re feeling depressed and stressed …..

If there is a particular situation that you are so used to handling
yourself and God is saying “take your hands off of it,” then you need to…

Let the past be the past. Forget the former things. GOD is doing a new thing for you!!!

Get Right or Get Left .. think about it, and then ..

Changed Perception.

There is one thing i have come to realise about friendship, though it took me long to realize am glad i know now.

We dont meet people by accident neither are they accidents themselves. Every person we meet has a purpose in our life, and they have a role to play.

Sometimes some friendship do not last long and we cannot help but be thankful that for a moment in time they graced our lives and made us smile.

Some friendships may go all the way maybe even from childhood to adulthood overlooking the distance if any overlooking obstacles. I also realized that friendship is a two way traffic, you gotta be ready to do as much as the other party can.

So last semester was quite a good one for me mainly because i joined a group called I choose Life. I had always wanted to join the group and was elated when i was presented with the opportunity. Well, from the interview i learned a lot i must say. This organisation is very informative and i would recommend it for anyone who asks me which organisation to join in campus.

During one of our trainings, i happened to be in a group with one of my coursemates, Gabriel. We didnt interact much in class but here we did. I remember i was on my phone browsing most free times when he asked me what i was browsing. I did not have a particular answer because i was on social networks twitter, facebook, whatsapp name them. He then told me something that changed my perception on internet. He asked me of what importance is it? So i told him i was having fun.

It then hit me i could learn more from the social networks, interact with interlectuals and people of great minds. I could learn of issues in my country and  abroad and also take up great opportunities as presented.

In the picture above is Gabriel, center, Marishma and I. Thanks Gabriel, your words changed my perception. What are friends for anyway!

Justice For Liz And Women

Growing up, i did not hear much of rape. I only remember two incidences of school going girls having been raped and nothing much was done to those who were blamed for it.

So late last week, i log into twitter and there is a hash tag doing rounds #Justice4liz. I had seen it earlier, quite a few times, pardon my ignorance because i didnt even bother.

On this particular day, almost every of my follower was tweeting on #JusticeForLiz.

So i opened a link and there it was. Liz had been raped and thrown into a latrine and she had sustained injuries, a broken back and now on a wheelchair.  Reading on after her rescue she reported the matter to the law enforcers who administered a punishment of slashing grass in the police station and set free.

I couldnt help but question the sanity of the policemen responsible. Or was it ignorance perhaps? Why do they treat rape cases casually? Many have blamed it on absence of proper police reforms and this has been the greatness hindrance in the fight against rape.

This incident took me back in time when Njoki Ndung’u moved a motion on sexual offence. Its now an Act years later and i couldnt help but wonder.. is the Act effective, really?

There are people who felt that justice was not served for Liz and they signed a petition, millions of people around the world. I signed it too.  This was widely spread through social media and also here in Nairobi, Kenya a demonstration was successfully carried out.

I then realized that i had been sleeping for long, i need to join hands with my fellow women on the fight against rape. So am changing my facebook fanpage name to a more inclusive name, for women and girls against Rape.
